Orders and Bookings
What you need to know
The process of designing your wedding cake begins with a consultation. This gives you the opportunity to see my work and to discuss your requirements. Consultations are free and without obligation and include cake tasting and afternoon tea for two people. At least three months' notice is normally required. If you wish, you can secure your wedding date in advance by payment of a non-refundable booking deposit of £50. You will be required to pay 50% of the agreed cost of the cake on confirming your booking and the balance two months ahead of the wedding date.
Other celebration cakes, cupcakes and layer cakes
These require less notice (one week is often sufficient) but payment in full is required at the time of ordering.
Wedding cake orders, in particular, may be affected by Covid-19. At Sweet Marguerite Cakes, I aim to be as flexible as possible in order to help couples who are placed in a difficult position and having to make hard decisions about their wedding day. There are three possible outcomes as a result of Covid-19:
You may decide to cancel your wedding altogether. If this is the case, provided no work has been undertaken in relation to your cake, your deposit and any other payments made by you will be refunded in full. Otherwise, your deposit and any payments made by you will be returned less any expense incurred by Sweet Marguerite Cakes.
You may decide to postpone your wedding. If this happens, Sweet Marguerite Cakes will endeavour to transfer your order to your new wedding date.
You may need to reduce the number of your guests. If this happens, you will be given the option of a smaller wedding cake and, if you have already paid in full, a refund of the difference in cost will be made to you.
PLEASE NOTE: the above applies only to cancellations and changes brought about by Covid-19. If your wedding cake has been completed at the time you seek to make the cancellation or change, your cake will be delivered to you and no refund will be available.
